SURVIVOR OF MID-STATE PRISON RESPONDS TO SUSPENSION OF PRISON GUARDS IDENTIFIED IN THE BRUTAL MURDER OF MESSIAH NANTWI

(New York) — Today, the New York State Department of Correction and Community Supervision (DOCCS) announced the suspension of three prison guards as well as the placement of twelve other guards and sergeants on administrative leave in relation to the brutal lynching of Messiah Nantwi at Mid-State prison in Marcy, New York…. In response, Alton Lee, a survivor of Mid-State and Marcy prisons and a Hudson Valley Community Leader with the Release Aging People in Prison Campaign (RAPP), released the following statement:
