
PAROLE REFORM: Nineteen aging services providers and health
organizations sent a letter to state lawmakers on Monday urging that they pass
legislation to reform parole for older New Yorkers. The organizations, which
include the New York Academy of Medicine, JASA and Columbia’s Mailman
School of Public Health, asked legislators to pass the Elder Parole bill, which
allows people over age 55 who have served long sentences to be considered for
parole on a case-by-case basis…
