Speaking of unfinished business, here are some of the other bills that are worthy of passage this year:

Elder Parole and the Fair and Timely Act: Passage of these two bills would continue the Legislature’s important criminal justice reforms. The former would grant parole hearings for inmates older than 55 who have served at least 15 years in prison. The latter would broaden the criteria used to consider parole to include whether a person shows evidence of rehabilitation….
