NEW YORK — Today, a majority of New York State Senators (32) co-sponsored the Elder Parole bill (S.454-Hoylman-Sigal/A.514-Davila), pending legislation in New York State that would allow incarcerated New Yorkers defined by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision as older adults to appear before the Parole Board for individualized release consideration on a case-by-case basis once they’ve served 15 or more years in prison on their sentence.
